I came across this vintage Bonhams catalogue dating from 1993.<br />
<br />
In my research into sales of <i>Doctor Who </i>costumes and memorabilia at historical Bonhams auctions, I don’t think I’ve seen quite so many Who-related items in a general sale before - 75 items in total, most of which are costume.<br />
<br />
Catalogues in those days were sparsely written, often containing typing errors and misattributions. Hence you will see <i>Sontarin</i> (not Sontaran) and <i>Androzanni</i> (instead of Androzani).<br />
Other instances cite the wrong episode titles; wrong seasons; and occasional wrong aliens!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Where possible I have used the (few) photos from the catalogue to illustrate the items, but most I have sourced images from either episodes cited, or later Bonhams auctions where it would appear these items resurfaced for sale.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<b>As usual I have separated the items by Doctor era, and you can see the rest of the items here:</b><br />

Well at Gallifrey One this year, as part of his stage talk on the Sunday, legendary actor Sir John Hurt (with the help of someone from the audience) did just that!<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoWqPt3ZcqAvEy_jAvdDHVo4QUFwzLd6dJ6XBAebi3nkO0EF2Y_xzQpOoeQbv6R86plOzLoz1pDw90x9ArVl-yaWYXKjsO0cSzmAaGgOhfwkvNzdDsPB5IqhElq7V3ae7dSAxVnwpWr7LX/s1600/fc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoWqPt3ZcqAvEy_jAvdDHVo4QUFwzLd6dJ6XBAebi3nkO0EF2Y_xzQpOoeQbv6R86plOzLoz1pDw90x9ArVl-yaWYXKjsO0cSzmAaGgOhfwkvNzdDsPB5IqhElq7V3ae7dSAxVnwpWr7LX/s200/fc.jpg" width="155" /></a></div>
It started with the 1991 <i>Doctor Who </i>auction, where dozens of costumes and props were up for grabs. I’ve since traced later sales where many times from the 1991 auction were resold, and some of these still pop up today from time to time.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyOw5TJtn0lI_J9n3TjDdCzNcf39BRR_8fUQTxgCYm7wueCWq_HbOUrONQcx95mDJjfT5WNjuM0xXGGfAfp0P7D3OaSlbVvjX8HrIedGw5fbQHOpakgUIj4u5EhGeipgZjmyZx_rQG86A/s1600/BONHAMS+31-3-94+catalogue.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyOw5TJtn0lI_J9n3TjDdCzNcf39BRR_8fUQTxgCYm7wueCWq_HbOUrONQcx95mDJjfT5WNjuM0xXGGfAfp0P7D3OaSlbVvjX8HrIedGw5fbQHOpakgUIj4u5EhGeipgZjmyZx_rQG86A/s200/BONHAMS+31-3-94+catalogue.jpg" width="161" /></a>A couple of weeks ago I found a Bonhams catalogue from 1994, containing 22 lots of Who-related items were sold.<br />
<br />
Frustratingly due to the cost of producing print publications in the days, there are no photographs to illustrate the items on offer (every image would have had to be taken on film and processed, compared to the instant and cheap nature of digital photography today).<br />
<br />
These sales also pre-date the internet, so finding the realised prices is near impossible.<br />
<br />
Less care seems to have been taken in preparing the text in the catalogue.<br />

There are a number of spelling errors and possible mis-titling of episodes, but since some of these are for pre-production scripts (and therefor correct at the time) I have replicated the text here exactly as it appeared in the 1994 catalogue.<br />

In it a large number of ex-BBC Costume Dept outfits from <i>Doctor Who </i>were sold off.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgev3wApKGhHlVgMoLMvphhFoBC9yzFtFEyJRmcZOzdxNrdzT8yr10pcmg3DN2Td6onXlE7gBFtr8eDPDMhD6GYjdwV9s3Q9d4QxJBEViuUuJX1qb1Xb53oK6U2itPpZI4YCCcxjp9SPFZj/s1600/Bonhams+24th+Aug+CATALOGUE.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgev3wApKGhHlVgMoLMvphhFoBC9yzFtFEyJRmcZOzdxNrdzT8yr10pcmg3DN2Td6onXlE7gBFtr8eDPDMhD6GYjdwV9s3Q9d4QxJBEViuUuJX1qb1Xb53oK6U2itPpZI4YCCcxjp9SPFZj/s200/Bonhams+24th+Aug+CATALOGUE.jpg" width="157" /></a></div>
Since then I have found another catalogue from 1992, this time from August.<br />
<br />
Interestingly a number of the extensive <i>Doctor Who </i>items sound very much like those sold back in January, though with much higher estimates this time around.<br />
<br />
More recently I think we have seen some of these lots continuing to be sold on. It’s fascinating to trace the items back through the various auction catalogues, following the prices they sell for.<br />
<br />

<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAewgkaqF6C4Qr16tU5tJcaPx_GxwmIwcpPlEu1Z5DCfb4YgAR0z0fnChuaZPAZqHgBD0sVcsB6MTfRGon5glGlRcnLoKRpcDaRYoGDV_Dc4U0skQNvFSHJZYqqB8Td7U1BNdRZaiEq4Oz/s1600/BONHAMS+1992+catalogue+cover.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAewgkaqF6C4Qr16tU5tJcaPx_GxwmIwcpPlEu1Z5DCfb4YgAR0z0fnChuaZPAZqHgBD0sVcsB6MTfRGon5glGlRcnLoKRpcDaRYoGDV_Dc4U0skQNvFSHJZYqqB8Td7U1BNdRZaiEq4Oz/s200/BONHAMS+1992+catalogue+cover.jpg" width="141" /></a>Due to the volume of items on offer, the sale was held at the BBC Costume Warehouse, which at the time was on the Royal London Industrial Estate in North Acton.<br />
<br />
Most of the sale was non-descript items, broken down into sections such as PERIOD COSTUMES - GREEK/ROMAN, MEDIAEVAL, TUDOR, ELIZABETHAN, STUART, GEORGIAN and REGENCY, VICTORIAN and EDWARDIAN etc.<br />
<br />
It then moved on to SPORTSWEAR and MISCELLANEOUS before CHILDRENS and LIGHT ENTERTAINMENT. There was even a section for FANCY DRESS and ARMOUR, CHAINMAIL ETC.<br />
<br />
Then things got more interesting with NARNIA prior to the big draw the sale - the SCIENCE FICTION section.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvThhyphenhyphen9_XiuODRlg5mKssxIXdKgxZtBxeo_x5CMGKe_LL3LHZ1qxgoRvXE5Ke3JkeZYKxiMdJb1lEGIw6bjtWv1om9Mubxsx5L1UlAndw29do5pU2_HruqGTb9ATDrYDNehtWU4JwhBPRG/s1600/page+24+Dr+Who.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvThhyphenhyphen9_XiuODRlg5mKssxIXdKgxZtBxeo_x5CMGKe_LL3LHZ1qxgoRvXE5Ke3JkeZYKxiMdJb1lEGIw6bjtWv1om9Mubxsx5L1UlAndw29do5pU2_HruqGTb9ATDrYDNehtWU4JwhBPRG/s320/page+24+Dr+Who.jpg" width="226" /></a>This was broken down into DR WHO, BLAKE’S 7, THE FLIP SIDE OF DOMINICK HYDE, STAR COPS, and OTHER SCIENCE FICTION COSTUMES.<br />
<br />
The sale closed with a section of late additions, which included an extra <i>Doctor Who </i>lot.<br />
<br />
I recently picked up a copy of the sales catalogue on aBay - such as it is. Back in 1992 this consisted of a pocket folder with a stapled loose sheet listing of the items for sale. There are no photographs or illustrations, and the descriptions are scant to say the least.<br />
<br />
I have transcribed all the <i>Doctor Who </i>items.<br />

This is an amazing opportunity <br />
<br />
This is almost 50 years old - a piece of an original Silurian creature from the Jon Pertwee story that introduced them in 1970!<br />
<br />
As with many costumes of the day, they have deteriorated. No Silurian survived from this story and this is a piece of the head of one of the Silurian remains - this is ultra rare!<br />
<br />
I have seen small pieces of Silurian sell once before for £100 each - this piece has been sited in resin to prevent further deterioration and framed for display<br />
<br />
It is supplied with a copy of the letter of authenticity from the prop experts who sold it and is s once in a lifetime auction!Steven Ricks Tailoringhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07549983020683092455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6449294872294565570.post-11408024988250400432015-12-01T12:40:00.000+00:002015-12-01T14:46:09.038+00:00Bonhams auction - 10th December 2015<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3VZNNQuY1oaQK1Ghl5buP4fRTObRh1FYg6MJc3ssagYAzpmMFXXTFqmgnXdDItO2Or_CKIxZ8TisFghYrOMaPLFTA7D7zZDwIll4kWqEo6LOHPRWsb3ZaOScSKhj7FTxHQXh4K8pYL_U/s1600/Conhams+catalogue+10-12-15.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3VZNNQuY1oaQK1Ghl5buP4fRTObRh1FYg6MJc3ssagYAzpmMFXXTFqmgnXdDItO2Or_CKIxZ8TisFghYrOMaPLFTA7D7zZDwIll4kWqEo6LOHPRWsb3ZaOScSKhj7FTxHQXh4K8pYL_U/s200/Conhams+catalogue+10-12-15.jpg" width="158" /></a></div>As 2015 draws to a close, it’s time for the end of year Entertainment Memorabilia sale at Bonhams.<br />

The Camera script is entitled <i>Ambassadors of Death</i>, episode four, and features 3rd Doctor Jon Pertwee (1970). The item is in very good order, although shows slight pin rust, fading, is fragile, so take this into consideration.<br />
<br />
The item was kept by John in a filing cabinet for many years until his sad passing, then sold by his friend TV presenter Stephen Cranford who provided a signed letter of provenance which accompanies this great collectors item whoever wins this.<br />

An original costume piece used in the production of the long running BBC science fiction television series <i>Doctor Who</i>.<br />
<br />
This neck valance formed part of the costume worn by the reptilian like Silurians in the 1970 serial <i>The Silurians</i> starring Jon Pertwee as The Doctor.<br />
<br />
Constructed from a heavy duty canvas material which has been coated with latex and dressed with wood chip giving a textured finish. In a condition fitting of its 45 year age it has hardened into shape with only the lower front section remaining flexible, lacking some of wood chip finish and the tail piece that the ran down the front of the bodysuit it remains an incredibly rare costume element from the original appearance of these recurring monsters.<br />
<br />
The valance measures approximately 16" across the shoulders and represents a rare example of an original artefact from the Jon Pertwee era of this classic science fiction television series.Steven Ricks Tailoringhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07549983020683092455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6449294872294565570.post-10182653325021831412014-12-08T09:48:00.001+00:002014-12-08T09:48:40.102+00:00Rare Dalek playsuit for auctionThis week sees the regular December <a href="http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/21948/" target="_blank">Entertainment And Memorabilia Auction at Bonhams</a>.<br />
There’s a handful of <i>Doctor Who </i>items, but the majority are for uninspiring <i>Torchwood</i> and <i>Sarah Jane </i>costumes.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

But what has caught my eye is a lot in another auction taking place by <a href="http://www.astonsauctioneers.co.uk/" target="_blank">Aston’s Auctioneeres</a> in Dudley, West Midlands!<br />
<br />
This Thursday and Friday (11th and 12th December 2014) sees a vast sale of Toys and Model Railways.<br />
<br />
The most interesting lot is for an original Berwick Dalek Playsuit from 1965.<br />
Originally sold for 66s 6d, they sell for in excess of £300 to £400, so the £150 to £220 estimate is quite conservative, given that it is complete and comes with the original box.<br />

Originally made for the sci-fi film <i>Moon Zero Two</i> (1969), the helmets were later used in many subsequent productions, most notably <i>Doctor Who.</i> The helmet is made of fibreglass and features a clear plastic visor and a foam lining. It is finished in an off-white paint scheme and the neck ring has a foil appliqué to give the appearance of metal.<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYVE1xpmUHPXR4JwQrD3hwPhtLQjmpVfnHEcer8S3I7cSiNr8OGdXyPodLBgH8o7hZyMPtkgpehJVWWEijrl-7pR_alXPKXgZNB4TMSQvpZrtVMZfVLxOYZifn6ghRwnZUeHjZ87r4zVtO/s1600/ALL+11+doctors+shirts.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYVE1xpmUHPXR4JwQrD3hwPhtLQjmpVfnHEcer8S3I7cSiNr8OGdXyPodLBgH8o7hZyMPtkgpehJVWWEijrl-7pR_alXPKXgZNB4TMSQvpZrtVMZfVLxOYZifn6ghRwnZUeHjZ87r4zVtO/s1600/ALL+11+doctors+shirts.jpg" height="320" width="286" /></a></div>
They soon released all twelve Doctors, and have kept the idea alive by doing a few of the peripheral characters as well.<br />
<br />
Now they are going back over a few of The Doctors, creating some of the alternative costume variations seen down the years.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO1OQ9b70QZn5BhX9_of3d1mUr0Ci2uxuF0Eha8LqFW5ZxqlBa-PPdRaLIlxPty-8a37JSUvMt8-ItnqG0hbZwHBLA0f4kI6-ektQ-XJm33iZpjqo_WrwBAbb_IRgGk7qHJjUG2pR42N3M/s1600/3rd+dr+alt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO1OQ9b70QZn5BhX9_of3d1mUr0Ci2uxuF0Eha8LqFW5ZxqlBa-PPdRaLIlxPty-8a37JSUvMt8-ItnqG0hbZwHBLA0f4kI6-ektQ-XJm33iZpjqo_WrwBAbb_IRgGk7qHJjUG2pR42N3M/s1600/3rd+dr+alt.jpg" height="320" width="320" /></a></div>
You can now get the Third Doctor - but as seen in the tenth anniversary special, The Three Doctors, with the blue lined Inverness cape.<br />
<br />
Despite featuring in the iconic group photocall, this variant of the cape was only used briefly in a couple of scenes in the story.<br />
<br />
That said, I do think it is a better choice than the brown Inverness cape of the original t-shirt.<br />

This is an amazing piece - with the anniversary of doctor who, I thought I would offer this absolutely last amazing opportunity from my own personal collection.<br />
<br />
This is a fantastic original prop with fantastic provenance. There is only one original 1970 Silurian costume left in existence. When it was being restored, a few small original pieces had to be discarded. This item is from the head and so rare it is unthinkable - I did not intend to sell this, as it is my own I was going to keep, but pressures have forced my hand!<br />
<br />
I have only sold two other smaller pieces two years ago and both went for £150.<br />
<br />
This comes displayed in a display frame and will be supplied with certifcate of provenence confirming its authenticity.Steven Ricks Tailoringhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07549983020683092455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6449294872294565570.post-76516234487310393302013-11-25T18:45:00.000+00:002013-12-11T21:56:49.806+00:00AMAZING 3rd Doctor item on eBayA couple of months ago there was an amazing <a href="http://thirddoctorcostume.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/more-original-3rd-doctor-items-on-ebay.html" target="_blank">original Auton Mask on eBay</a>.<br />

On 24-Nov-13 at 23:07:16 GMT, seller added the following information:<br />
Please read .............we are getting lots and lots of questions about this -so rather than try and answer them all we have added this-<br />

and we will be as honest as we can about it....<br />
<br />
This mask came to us from a very avid collector of Doctor Who . His collection consisted of very rare items many of them were signed by the actors themselves and several photos amongst the collection showed him with them. This mask was from the same collection and we have hung onto it until now because it is just so impressive ......it was nice to have on display for a while ............<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

many questions have asked about provenance...<br />
<br />
No- it does not have a BBC stamp on the back and there is no letter of provenance with it<br />
<br />
All we can say is .....we believe it to be a prop , it is extremely well made, far too good to be a toy .<br />
<br />
As the photos show , the detail is fantastic......we took more photos than usual to let you see it and make up your own minds ........<br />
<br />
The size is for an adult, and measures top to bottom- 50cms in length and 40 cms width and it weighs 800 grms.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcQhsiDEctMEPjDZ1hBL1O4K1So-qB2wCXh5sGM-dwFhkI9gGaelFJf0p3On1rKGXz-GpdpS6AFQJdPa6jZel5Ir4A3_uq5ZOasPzOJ4ZqOfWyzSk5Q18cnRXiH2KkTFw_rNUFPRdzW0ea/s1600/Silurian+mask+-+INSET+4.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcQhsiDEctMEPjDZ1hBL1O4K1So-qB2wCXh5sGM-dwFhkI9gGaelFJf0p3On1rKGXz-GpdpS6AFQJdPa6jZel5Ir4A3_uq5ZOasPzOJ4ZqOfWyzSk5Q18cnRXiH2KkTFw_rNUFPRdzW0ea/s320/Silurian+mask+-+INSET+4.jpg" width="238" /></a></div>
so we hope this helps , as we say , in our honest opinion - knowing its source etc -we believe it to be a tv prop ...................but at the end of the day - it is sold as seen and as described.<br />
<br />
we are not trying to deceive anyone in any way -so please -only bid -if you are happy with what you see in the photos and our descriptionSteven Ricks Tailoringhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07549983020683092455noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6449294872294565570.post-1355568452531561232013-11-23T20:40:00.000+00:002014-02-05T11:35:49.074+00:00Doctor Who Celebration - costume exhibitionThis weekend’s <i>Doctor Who</i> Celebration has been a feast for the eyes for fans.<br />
<br />
As well as catering for those who have come to Who through the relaunch series, there has been a good nod to the history of the show with a wide variety of guests and an extensive exhibition of costumes culled from Cardiff’s <i>Doctor Who</i> Experience.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-WIR0rbrp0CL6ZQ1c0zg5lJhguoiFnjCrjYaRACIhvq0idMtC-ovOsWjnklOGErluzxGlMUef6MrQfcOH4sWA7uCDHZR0UsMrcC1w3ZkVzCcHDA6Nup74GgG7jLCIPd5olv8A4AHSdNRZ/s1600/doctors+in+circle.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi-WIR0rbrp0CL6ZQ1c0zg5lJhguoiFnjCrjYaRACIhvq0idMtC-ovOsWjnklOGErluzxGlMUef6MrQfcOH4sWA7uCDHZR0UsMrcC1w3ZkVzCcHDA6Nup74GgG7jLCIPd5olv8A4AHSdNRZ/s1600/doctors+in+circle.jpg" height="211" width="320" /></a></div>They had a near complete set of Doctor’s costumes on show (missing was the Eighth and War Doctors) arranged in a circle around Bessie.<br />

The one thing I saw which was a stand-out Third Doctor item for me was amongst the Time Lord robes display. It included a version seen in <i>The Three Doctors</i> back in 1973.<br />

With December looming, it is time for another Bonhams Entertainment Memorabilia sale!<br />
<br />
The past few auctions have been <i>Doctor Who</i> lite when it comes to items, so there is no surprise that the first post-Anniversary is brimming with costumes and nick backs, dating back to 1968.<br />

<br />
The sources of the images used are quite interesting, the majority of which are from the <i>Radio Times </i>own extensive archive of <i>Doctor Who </i>images. All are out-takes, so are being published for the first time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUhiiifVYoa-tYx0hct1CrliYAynlf3ZFFFNPo5ZTa1smSiLqe08DGdgt9LP-0AX79Lqrn2Ux1154a2buZBJbyEfW54zto8d2GPuioNz3HCAf2saE_VJpyQuLKv9Y3hzexFTE1d2X5Qao/s1600/RT+1-3+old.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUhiiifVYoa-tYx0hct1CrliYAynlf3ZFFFNPo5ZTa1smSiLqe08DGdgt9LP-0AX79Lqrn2Ux1154a2buZBJbyEfW54zto8d2GPuioNz3HCAf2saE_VJpyQuLKv9Y3hzexFTE1d2X5Qao/s1600/RT+1-3+old.jpg" height="131" width="200" /></a></div>
The First and Second Doctors come from the 10th Anniversary Special published by the <i>Radio Times</i> in 1973. The Third Doctor comes from a photoshoot in 1970 for the launch of Jon Pertwee in the role.<br />

The Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Doctors are pictured from the shoot for the 30th Anniversary special, which featured in the 1993 <i>Children In Need</i>.<br />
<br />
This shows that they were all taken separately before being composited into the group on the cover.<br />

<br />
The rest of the Doctors come from bespoke cover shoots done for the <i>Radio Times</i> in more recent years. For example the Ninth Doctor is from the gatefold cover which launched the new series in 2005; and the Tenth from <i>The Next Doctor</i> in 2008. The Eleventh and War Doctors are obviously newly taken.<br />
